Meet Moi's Daughter Who Went Against Her Father's Wishes And Married Her Brother's Close Ally

Doris Elizabeth Chepkorir Moi is a daughter of the late Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi.

She was born in 1962 at Kabarak and is the twin sister of Philip Moi, who has also largely stayed out of the public eye and politics despite their father's prominent role as Kenya's second president 1978–2002.

Doris attended Nairobi Primary School for her early education. She then proceeded to Limuru Girls High School for secondary education. She is known for leading a relatively private life compared to some of her siblings.

She married Ibrahim Kiptum Choge who was a close friend and co-driver with her brother Jonathan Moi in Safari Rally races. Ibrahim was the son of a Nandi MP.

The couple settled in Kaimosi, Nandi County, where they ran a large tea farming estate.

Tragically, Ibrahim Choge died in a road accident on June 8, 1998, along the Kapsabet-Kisumu road. His father publicly claimed the death was not accidental but orchestrated murder, though official reports described it as a crash.

The marriage was notable because it occurred against the wishes and strong disapproval of her father, the former President the late Daniel Moi, who reportedly rejected and opposed the union. Despite this opposition from her father, Doris proceeded with the marriage.
