“Miguna is a Monumental Disgrace” Havi Reveals What Sifuna Did for Miguna Before Their Fallout

Lawyer Nelson Havi has strongly criticised Miguna Miguna over his remarks about Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, accusing the outspoken lawyer of failing to appreciate the people who fought for his freedom.

Havi defended Sifuna, saying the senator played an important role when Miguna was seized and later fought to have him return to Kenya.

In a statement shared on October 11, 2026, Havi said Sifuna was among the first people to respond when Miguna was seized on a Friday morning.

He described Miguna’s criticism of Sifuna as unjustified and unwarranted, arguing that the senator had previously stood with him during a difficult period in his life.

Havi also recalled the legal battle that followed Miguna’s deportation from Kenya.

He said Sifuna, together with several volunteer advocates, risked their lives while fighting for Miguna’s liberty between March 2018 and October 20, 2022.

According to Havi, the struggle lasted until Miguna received his passport and was able to return to the country.

However, Havi appeared particularly disappointed by what happened after Miguna regained his freedom.

He claimed that Miguna went straight to State House to celebrate with people he believed had oppressed him.

Havi presented this as a painful outcome for those who had spent years fighting for Miguna’s rights.

The lawyer further revealed that Sifuna had helped raise money from well-wishers to support their campaign for Miguna’s freedom.

Havi then launched a harsh attack on Miguna, calling him a “monumental disgrace and shame to humanity as well as the legal profession.”

His remarks have added another dimension to the debate surrounding Miguna’s criticism of Sifuna.

Havi’s statement places the focus on the sacrifices made by those who defended Miguna and raises questions about the relationship between past political struggles and present-day disagreements.
